Wikisource?

Somebody's posted all the words and everything. I'm sure it's public domain, but isn't that material better-suited for Wikisource? --Merovingian (T, C, E) 21:51, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

sp "wets"

edit

Verse 2: All wets of your waters, are our mine.

is wets = west?GinAndChronically (talk) 01:36, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

No. It's not directly translatable, but is equivalent to "All the moisture of Your waters, belong to all of us."
The translation in the article is pretty bad. I'll do my best to improve it. But honestly, this whole article could use a rewrite.

I think the translation is now a bit more presentable, and clearer. It was obviously a poor quality literal machine translation. There was no idiom, and some of it clearly didn't match what the Arabic intended. My Arabic is far from perfect, so if I made a mistake somewhere, feel free to correct it. I'll improve it further when I have some translation materials in front of me. Quinto Simmaco (talk) 17:33, 27 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Translation problems

edit

There are still some problems with the translation. First, the infobox contains a different name for the official name of Yemen. It should be "al-Jumhūrīyah al-Yamaniah" not "al-Jumhūrīyah al-Muttaḥidâh" which is the old name of Egypt during its short unity with Syria. Second, there is a repetition of the verse "Clothe him with the shining mantles of our festivals" while it's not repeated in the Arabic version. Third, the word "sarmadia" could be translted to "eternally" not Ummayad which is not even Arabic word. --Mohammed.Almussaabi (talk) 21:41, 8 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
