The list of stations might be more use if they were arranged geographically in order around the coast rather than alphabetically - any views? seglea (talk) 23:47, 15 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notes on my edit edit

Most of what I've done is just minor copyediting -- adding wikilinks, tidying up punctuation etc. Three points that might be worth giving specific mention to, though:

  1. "Ordnance survey (r)" has been replaced by "Ordnance Survey". I imagine that the "(r)" was intended to be a registered trademark symbol, but the Manual of Style advises against using those except in a few specific situations.
  2. I removed the "tragic" from the phrase "...following the two tragic deaths..." near the start of the History section. Of course the deaths were tragic, but the style seems more newspaper-like than encyclopedic.
  3. I removed entirely the line "The list is endless and the National Coastwatch Volunteers are trained to expect and deal with the unexpected." That sentence read as promotional material more than anything.

I also noticea couple of places where info dates from three or four years ago -- could someone please update that part with more recent information? Loganberry (Talk) 15:08, 26 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
