Sources and lack of citations edit

This article needs better sources. The material for Meeker, CO appears to have details, but it has not sources or footnotes, so is not very reliable. In addition, some of the content seems confused and conflicts with what is already on this page (although not well sourced.)Parkwells (talk) 22:02, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Separate article for Meeker's Massacre? Move suggestion edit

Two sources refer to the Ute uprising of 1879 as a larger movement precipitated by Meeker's Massacre.

  • Should Meeker's Massacre be a separate article (from Meeker's biography) in order to concentrate on it and its relation to overall western Indian and settlement issues, especially in the context of the 1879 uprising? Secondly, perhaps the separate article should be entitled "Ute 1879 Uprising", as there were more elements than just the massacre.Parkwells (talk) 22:02, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bias: How many Ute died? edit

Did any Ute die? If so this article is biased against the Ute and fails to mention their deaths. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.207.216 (talk) 23:41, 7 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
