Birth and death dates

edit

This anonymous edit with no summary or citations "corrects" the birth and death dates. I'm not sure I trust it. Someone might want to seek a citation. - Jmabel | Talk 01:00, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Not sure I trust it" turns out to be an understatement. The death date disagrees with the short bio on the website of Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks, whom I trust on this matter far more than an anomymous editor. I will revert. - Jmabel | Talk 01:04, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Becoming Chief + Queen Victoria

edit

We don't mention here the other candidates for Chief Rabbi, although they're in our biography of Samson Raphael Hirsch.

I read in a biography of Hirsch, that Adler's success in the selection was in part due to royal approval. Apparently, a heavily pregnant Queen Victoria visiting Hanover was concerned about delivering her child on foreign soil and Nathan advised her to have the baby on a British ship, advice she apparently took. Can anyone verify? --Dweller (talk) 11:48, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
