Sources edit

I couldn't find any sources to confirm that her family fled the city because of March Days. I removed the controversial part per discussion on Huseyn Seyidzadeh talkpage. VartanM 05:48, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your argument on Huseyn Seyidzadeh was that the source was not credible. In this article, the information is taken straight out of the actress's official website. Plus, if you remove the information on her family's escape, the paragraph overall does not make sense. Parishan 01:11, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Any ideas why that particular information is missing from her Russian biography? [1] --VartanM 05:59, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Nope. Parishan 07:45, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Its because the Azeri language is ment for Azeris, who see no problem with throwing dirt on Armenians. While the Russian is ment for international audience, printing unsupported claim like that, might raise a few questions. Since a Russian language biography is available why not change it to Russian? --VartanM 17:58, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, we can't sit here and assume things. It may not be a translation. It might have been written by two different people, each of whom was proficient in one language only. Parishan 20:29, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
You're right, we can't assume. Since the same site has two different versions of the same biography, we need to find another reference. If there is no other source, than the information has to be removed. VartanM 02:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, I just don't see how having two versions of someone's biography that in no way contradict each other, affects the reliablity of the source. Nowhere does it say that a biography should always be written in the exact same wording in every existing language. Parishan 03:46, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
It contradicts itself in a way that a key part of the information that you're using is missing from an international version. If there is a Russian version you should use the Russian version instead of Azeri. Can you provide another source? If not I'll remove that part in a week. --VartanM 04:07, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

If you remove it, it will be restored. You don't have sufficient reasoning in your attempt to remove that information. The fact that something is present here and not present there does not mean anything. The Russian version of the website was never meant to be international (as Russian is widely spoken in Azerbaijan), and neither was the Russian version of the biography. I just cast a glance at the website and realized that the biography in Russian is a very concise summary of the Azeri version. This means, if anything, the Azeri version should be considered the main reference because it contains more information. Parishan 07:11, 27 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

This source is contradicting itself. If you can find another source, please do so. --VartanM 00:20, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
It does not contradict itself. Parishan 03:00, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
This not going anywhere. I'm going to request a third party opinion. Unless you have objections VartanM 03:23, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sure. I have no problem with that. Parishan 03:28, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
