"Remodeling" this page

I'm almost done, and though I think it's looking good, some parts I fucked up on and others I still need to work on, I'll try to spend the few hours of the week I'm going to spend on Wikipedia trying to improve these articles. I Am Ri¢h! 02:51, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

These are the official chart listing according to billboard.com. Hip Hop is technically uncertified because I checked RIAA database but has sold 700K so its technically Gold but hasnt been certified for it yet. Do not put UK chart history unless you can put it on all the albums. makes no sense to put it on some and not on others. --Samil20 13:45, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fixed Hip Hop Is Dead release date. Someone had the date for his previous album (Nov 30 2004) instead of Dec 19 2006.Nickshoes 14:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fixed the album chart history info and certifications according to RIAA database and billboard chart history. Deleted Escobar 97 single because it was not a Nas single, it was from the Men In Black OST.--Samuel Miller 20:45, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

someone should fix hiphop is deads sales. it has reached platnum.

There is no source confirming the platinum status of Hip Hop Is Dead.--198.110.74.147 13:34, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Firm album went platinum and this is confirmed by Dr. Dre, Nas and Aftermath. The source cited is the incorrect one, that is a different group called the firm, look at it closely--Sosa 01:52, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

No news on "The N' Word" his new album that is dropping in December? Dead Presidents III is the first single off of it feat. Jay-z, from what I have heard. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.229.171.19 (talk) 19:25, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please why did you change the model of the page? It looked much better with the

Album cover Album information

^ this one looks so much better including the images and backround. Football 7 15:08, 16 May 2007 (UTC) YA;; DO KNOW THAT HIP HOP IS DEAD IS (AND HAS BEEN)PLATNIUM? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alxdaarsonist (talkcontribs) 00:16, 20 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Keep in mind that RIAA certification listed are for how many sales in the U.S. not worldwide. Hip Hop Is Dead sold over 1 million worldwide but just over 750,000 U.S. so it is not certified Platinum. www.RIAA.com/searchabledatabase —Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.110.74.102 (talk) 12:34, 25 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Future release

edit

Stop removing the content from both this page and Nas' main. Every other discography includes future releases and that, so why should we have a special rule for this one saying not having future releases. And specially a discography should include ALL albums including unreleased and future releases. The Nas preview discography in the main page is for SOLO albums (studio, official albums) no matter if they have been released or are going to be released later, but unreleased albums that was never out in public should NOT be added in the main page. --West Coast - Ryda 11:50, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yeah if Nigger is allowed to be kept, it's obviously allowed here. I don't see why this is such a big deal. It's still a studio album even if it's not released. Spellcast 07:37, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Discography

Hey. I saw an album (I think it was a mixtape) A Lost Prophecy/ies in a store this morning. Where is it on the list? I only saw The Prophecy and The Prophecy Vol. 2... 89.142.60.236 (talk) 15:04, 29 August 2008 (UTC) PS: Is it possible that it's the same as The Nigger Tape with a different name? Unfortunatly there wasn't any year of release on front or back cover, but I know that the second song was Hero (some unreleased version) and I think there were two remixes of Where Y'All At.Reply

But every where I'm reading its saying Nas has 8 consecutive platinum albums. He has 9 albums currently. His last album went gold so doesn't that make hip hop is dead platinum? It sold over 760, 000 back in 2008. I thought maybe they meant the firm album and its being counted as the 8th platinum album but then i thought it can't be because in the same article where it states he has 8 consecutive platinum albums it also says he has 4 number 1 albums. The firm went number 1 but its not counted. That would mean he would have 5 number 1 albums. Im sure hip hop is dead must have sold over a million in the US alone recently and thats why Nas now has 8 consecutive platinum albums.

Why

edit

Whoever is going around and changing the "x" symbol next to the number on multi-platinum certifications: please stop. It's completely unecessary and simply looks stupid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.224.167.134 (talk) 23:31, 14 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The multiplication sign (×) is correct. It stands for "times". An album is "two times platinum", not "2 ex platinum". Even the RIAA use it in their searchable database. Spellcast (talk) 02:47, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

All his albums and singles number one?

edit

I am quite sure that this looks completely fallacious and incorrect. Someone should change this back. Johnthepcson is here.

Where is the Best of Nas (Japanese Import)

edit

This is the center piece of my Nas album collection and although it has nothing new or rare on it, it still has the nice album cover. Its very rare now but a nice piece. Big Mark

it should be mentionned somewhere that Nas was a "co-writer" of Will Smith's album Big Willie Style, including having ghost-written Gettin Jiggy Wit ItM.Nelson (talk) 19:02, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

people need to revamp this page so hard

edit

first of all, does "Alive (Thunderpuss remix)" (Jennifer Lopez featuring Nas) exist? look here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alive_%28Jennifer_Lopez_song%29 it doesn't say Nas on it...instead someone could have confused it with the "I'm Gonna Be Alright (Track Masters remix)" (Jennifer Lopez featuring Nas) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jensyao (talkcontribs) 09:58, 12 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dear people who take care of this page:

edit

I have this article right here that lists and cite physical youtube evidence of all the Nas collaborations and tracks he did over the years. http://www.last.fm/user/jensyao/journal/2011/05/11/4dkrl3_tracks_featuring_nas_over_the_years_%281991_to_present%29 I do not have the background skill to put these titles in the "wikipedia table format" efficiently - I just manually copy the code for a row from above, paste it below, and then alter it for the next track - which is time consuming because there's quite a bit of tracks this discography failed to mention. If anyone has some spare time, please help update this page. thanks Jensyao (talk) 19:23, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

edit

Nas 2006 album hip hop is dead went platinum but it doesn't state so on wikipedia. It clearly states that Nas has 8 consecutive platinum albums. Here are a couple of links for proof:
