Cost of building NHS

edit

I heard a number of years back that either the cost to build NHS, or the amount spent on each student, was enough to send ALL the students to off-island private schools "forever." Instead, islanders opted to build the school. Anyone know the accuracy of this? Any sources? Might be interesting to include in this article. Arwcheek 02:02, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Cost of Building NHS

edit

The cost to build NHS was approved to be built for 28.5 million but was stalled by the Historical District Comission was re-voted in 1987 to be built for 31.3 million dollars. It is to this day, the largest construction project in history of the island. Source: Nantucket Only Yesterday by Robert F. Mooney Mg rotc2487 21:35, 10 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
