Who is William Powell? Edward Haycock seems to be the architect. Is he the same Edward Haycock who worked on Margam Castle in South Wales? Who is Coulthart also? They arent expaned upon in the links? Jeremy Bolwell (talk) 10:56, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nightingale Brook

edit

I think Nanteos means The brook of the nightingale, which is an evocative name. I think it is worth adding a translation but my Welsh isn't adequate to do this without citing a source. Verbcatcher (talk) 16:28, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thomas Jeffery Llewelyn Prichard offers that etymology in The New Aberystwyth Guide (1824; p.103): "from Nant, a Brook, and Eos, a Nightingale." Keri (talk) 16:40, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please edit the article accordingly, citing that source (unless a better source is found). I won't add it because you you should not cite a source without seeing that source. Thanks, Verbcatcher (talk) 17:01, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
@Verbcatcher:Link to page here. I haven't added it myself because I'm having a bit of a brain fart reading through some old court documents viz a murder trial and can't quite put my head to phrasing the addition. Keri (talk) 20:34, 26 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
Done. Verbcatcher (talk) 11:23, 27 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
