Are the authors sure that the name should be Namaqua? I am under the impression that the name of the tribe is and always was Nama, not Namaqua. The article states that the older sources used the term Namaqua. I would like those sources to be indicated since I don't beleive that this is correct.

SA government returned their lands?

I do not have enough information on this to write a section in this article, but I learned of some vague news that South African government returned their lands that were seized by the british colonialists for diamond mines. Seems to me this would be significant enough of an event to document for this article. Maybe someone else has leads on this? Casimirpo (talk) 16:18, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

There are citations to Pool 1979; Nuhn 1989; Bley 1971:142–169; Drechsler 1966:132-167; and Gewald 1999:141-230 without additional bibliographic data to identify these sources. As these sources purport to detail the ill treatment of indigenous peoples by the Germans, which is otherwise not well-sourced, it would seem prudent to adequately identify these for verification purposes.

• The book Drechsler, Horst (1966). Let us die fighting: the struggle of the Herero and Nama against German imperialism (1884-1915). Akademie-Verlag. is probably the correct one for "Drechsler 1966:132-167", if someone is willing to check.
• "Gewald 1999" is likely Gewald, Jan-Bart (1999). Herero Heroes: A socio-political history of the Herero of Namibia, 1890—1923. Oxford: James Curry. ISBN 978-0-85255-754-9..
• "Bley 1971" is likely Bley, Helmut (1971). South West Africa under German rule, 1894—1914. Evanston: Northwestern University Press. ISBN 978-0-8101-0346-7.
• "Pool 1979" is likely Pool, Gerhardus (1979). Die Herero-opstand, 1904-1907 (in Afrikaans). Pretoria: Haum. ISBN 978-0-7986-0359-1. (Which I believe was his dissertation.) It seems to have been republished in a slightly revised edition in 2016 by Protea Boekhuis in Pretoria, isbn=978-1-4853-0594-1.
