H II nucleus?
editAm I correct in the assumption that an "H II nucleus" means hydrogen II-based nucleus? I'm not well-versed in astronomy and feel that this needs clarifying. "H II nucleus" is also mentioned on similar pages. Perhaps we can create an H II page to wikilink this. Can anyone clarify? mheart (talk) 05:21, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- In astronomy, H II generally means singly-ionized hydrogen, otherwise known as a proton. It's used, for example, with H II regions. I'm not fully clear what is meant by an "H II nucleus", unless they mean the nucleus is an H II region. Hope this helps. Regards, RJH (talk) 21:51, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
Barred or unbarred?
editThe opening describes NGC 891 as an unbarred spiral galaxy, and the morphological class listed in the sidebar is consistent with that, but the Peculiarities section says that there's substantial evidence for a central bar. Which is it? --203.57.211.237 (talk) 11:06, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
