The Book of the Marvels of India edit

In The Book of the Marvels of India by Buzurg Ibn Shahriyar, sailors tale 36, while men were digging for gold they discovered a horde of ants, big as cats. In the year 307 AH, the Emir of Oman, Ahmed, son of Helal, carried among presents, which he was taking to the Khalifa Moqtadir, a black ant, as big as a cat, shut up in an iron cage, and secured by a chain. The creature died on the road, in the neighborhood of Dhou-Djabala. It was embalmed, however, and brought, in a good state of preservation, to Bagdad, that it might be viewed by the Khalifa and the populace. Those who had had the carrying of it said that it was fed every day, morning and evening, with two mannas of flesh, cut up small.--MuslimKnight786 (talk) 22:44, 15 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
