Peer review by Alana edit

Cebuscapucinus (talk) 20:03, 11 May 2019 (UTC) Hi Hellen! I'm following the guidelines from the Wiki module this week to offer some feedback:Reply

1. First, what does the article do well? Is there anything from your review that impressed you? Any turn of phrase that described the subject in a clear way? All the information seems to be cited well and accurate! The fact about piling cocoons near the entrance is interesting.

2. What changes would you suggest the author apply to the article? Why would those changes be an improvement? I would just continue expanding with any information you can find in peer-reviewed sources. The article is quite bare still, and I think you have a lot of room to grow it!

3. Did you notice anything about the article you reviewed that could be applicable to your own article? Let them know! Yes, your article made me want to include more about habitat and social behavior in my article as well.

Good job and good luck continuing to work on this article! :)

This article could be improved by including a section on vision. The Ogawa et al. article is a good souce. Adbriscoe (talk) 16:22, 30 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi Hellen, following up for some feedback after our editing day. I think you could expand upon the habitat section by including more geographical context or writing about where people have seen these ants. Are their habitats threatened? How have they changed over time? Is climate change affecting these ants? What about pesticides, or predators? The behavior section could be expanded upon as well, most easily with including links for the pages of other ant species you mention. I think one interesting idea is to compare the behavior of these ants with other ants. You might want to talk about how social they are, what their caste system is like, and how this system allows them to be functional and efficient. As Dr. Briscoe mentioned, adding a section on vision would be great too, as it looks like it has been studies in this species (see: https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/abs/10.1098/rspb.2015.0673). If you still want to add another section, you could write about their reproductive cycle and again, how it is the same as or different from other species of ant. Lastly, have these ants had any particular cultural impact? Have they infested people's homes, or crops? How have people dealt with this and reacted to their presence? Good luck with the rest of your edits, you've got a great start. :) -Alana
