Movie type question edit

I think it's a romantic comedy.
Only if you find a super----- abusing her powers against her ex "romantic". In fact, John Tucker Must Die and Chasing Papi are more wholesome. ACS (Wikipedian) 02:31, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
How the hell can this be a comedy film? The only moment I laughed was then Matt called his boss home-girl. TheBlazikenMaster 09:03, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Release date edit

I was just wondering if it's proximity to the new Superman movie is a coincidence or intended?

Well, technically, it was released two weeks ago. I hardly see why they'd intentionally release it close to the time a—*cough*Better*cough*—nother superhero movie was being released. ACS (Wikipedian) 02:31, 18 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Super Hero Box Needed! edit

I know, this is one for Spider-Man, but I think that someone should re-fill out this code out for G-Girl and post it up on this site. At the least, list her powers, abilities, villians, and the such. --MrRandomGuy 04:21, 25 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Plot Summary: Far, far to long edit

The plot summary is so long as to be unreadable. It should give the reader an idea of what happens in the movie, not provide a shot-by-shotm, joke-by-joke description of the movie. If someone wants to know exactly what happens, they can just watch the movie. We need to excise all the irrelevant details. Ashmoo 04:54, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree, Ash. That's one of the reasons I said add the hero box. --71.118.168.253 17:54, 26 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I completely agree. I think this film could be summed up in two paragraphs at most. This is far too long for a film of such inconsequence -- it's almost as long as the entry for "The Godfather"!! --Navstar 20:00, 2 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

If it's "long", it's probably because the originial author was following the example of other people who have given play-by-plays of many other movies here on Wikipedia. I don't care at all if it's shortened, but if we shorten this one we may as well go and clean up every other movie article that's out there.

That's fine by me. But not fixing this article because many other articles has a similar problem isn't much of a reason. Ashmoo 04:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, I agree. It's FAR too long. Wikipedia is for general info on a subject, right? It isn't full spoiler of movies. TheBlazikenMaster 09:10, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

What are her powers, exactly? edit

What does G-Girl do? I've asked what her powers were and all that I've been told is 'all of Super Girl's.' --MrRandomGuy 00:50, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Based on trailers I've seen, I'd say about comparable to Superman (flight, strength, breath, general invulnerability, etc.). I don't know about Kryptonite, though.--Attitude2000 04:20, 28 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Instead of Kryptonite the magical rock is her weakness. That's one of the main difference between Superman and G-Girl. TheBlazikenMaster 09:11, 12 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The bottom of "asides" edit

This is one of the first films Luke Wilson is pictured fully naked revealing his buttocks.

Who cares? Is it really important to have that? In my opinion it's not important to include small scenes, so what if his ass is shown? It's not important in my opinion. I'm not going to remove on sight, since I want opinions, if there will be no objections, I will remove this by the beginning of August. TheBlazikenMaster 08:07, 26 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I updated the trivia. edit

It has less inappropriate stuff now than it did. But I have feeling that I missed to spot something.

I especially removed the info about Luke Wilson's ass, it's the most inappropriate trivia of them all. So what if we see his ass? Movies aren't censored, (not by the movie studio, but it's sometimes censored by the creators to make it less inappropriate) and this is nothing new. I have seen tits in many movies, asses are more common in movies, so first appearance of asses is VERY inappropriate.

The rest is pure trivial. There are also pure trivial that I can't tell if they are important or not. But I cleared some obvious things or unnotable ones. TheBlazikenMaster 12:22, 15 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Import edit

As Jenny Johnson, G-Girl dons a brown wig to hide her blonde hair which is what the Silver Age Supergirl did in her Linda Lee Danvers identity, and also the Kara In-Ze version of Supergirl (who also added glasses to her disguise like her cousin Superman).

This is one of the three movies of the 2006 summer that feature Wanda Sykes. The other two are Clerks II and Over the Hedge. Clerks II and Ex-Girlfriend were both released on July 21 2006.

Eddie Izzard, the actor who plays Professor Bedlam, was previously featured as a villain in another superhero comedy, Mystery Men, in which he played the leader of the Disco Boys gang.

This is the second Uma Thurman film to feature Eddie Izzard as a "bad guy"; the first being The Avengers.

This is the second movie where Uma Thurman is seen having a Mister Cartoon Sidekick 2.

Ivan Reitman wanted to cast Rainn Wilson as Vaughn, and along with the producers had to negotiate with Universal Studios' television network and the producers of The Office to cast him, in order to accommodate filming The Office. [citation needed]

G-Girl and Hannah's fight scene is clearly a reference to the fight scene in Superman II. G-Girl spins Hannah around and flings her into a billboard, as Superman did to General Zod. Hannah hits G-Girl with a steel pole, as Superman did to Non. G-Girl throws a van at Hannah, as Ursa and Non threw a bus at Superman.

Above content is the imported trivia section; any useful entries should be re-integrated into the article.Erik (talkcontrib) - 19:31, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Great work, but I know it's not anywhere near featured status. Since it isn't really that notable. But anyway great job, this is good for an average movie article. Just out of curiously why couldn't the list of G-Girl's superpowers stay? TheBlazikenMaster 20:14, 21 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

LUNA Brothers, ULTRA, anyone? edit

i just want to mention that this movie has some themes similar to the comic ULTRA by luna brothers. if someone can point to any official relationship available, that would be appreciated..202.142.190.245 (talk) 12:05, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, you need to prove that's true. Wikipedia doesn't accept original researches, see also: Wikipedia:Reliable source TheBlazikenMaster (talk) 15:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article issues edit

This article needs the following before it can reach C-class status:

  • A "reception" section going over the overal critical reception of the film, including a Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes percentage
  • A "release" section thoroughly documenting the total gross of the film. The article needs more information about the total profit of this movie.
  • A general copyedit and expansion to clear major quality issues.
