Requested move 30 April 2023 edit

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Closing per WP:SNOW as not moved due to renaming of Light in My Darkness as My Religion (Keller book), for which nominator and lone support vote acknowledge significantly affects the justification for the move. It appears unnecessary to continue this discussion. (non-admin closure) Heartfox (talk) 01:19, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

– There were originally two articles with this title, but I redirected the "My Religion" (song) article back in 2021 as I did not believe it was notable enough for a separate article. Since this is currently the only Wikipedia article with this title, the disambiguation in the title no longer seems necessary. I was not sure if this would be a controversial move or not so I wanted to get feedback and open a discussion about it instead of just moving things around. • Its unclear to me if this album is notable. --Quiz shows 22:27, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • That is a good point. To be honest, I did not look into the article's notability prior to opening this discussion, and that is something I should have done first. I would completely understand if this would need to be closed so that could take priority. Aoba47 (talk) 22:41, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Not a problem, honestly my comment was kinda lazy. I support this move as proposed, unless the Helen Keller book is a realistic search term. The notability can be challenged later, I just glanced at the page and could easily be wrong. --Quiz shows 23:18, 30 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose, Helen Keller's 1927 autobiographical book is more notable than this somewhat obscure Norwegian album. 162 etc. (talk) 01:54, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose Rather, I support moving Light in my Darkness back to My Religion (book) which is still the more common name. It is still sold under that name, which is the one chosen by her, whereas "Light in my Darkness" is only a single revised version created after her death. The article seems biased towards that particular version rather than being about the book in general. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ () 05:10, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose even without blanking the 360,000 units selling No.1 Hot Digital song. That's nearly a gold record isn't it? Whereas the Norwegian album, would it have sold a fraction of that? In ictu oculi (talk) 07:35, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well this is all a mess. I've moved My Religion (Keller book) to actual title, noting My Religion (Tolstoy book). But I think the blanked song needs restoring as well. Or at least a discussion. Looks more notable than Norwegian album. In any case none of these subjects is WP:PT, so the dab stays. Fixed dab. Someone restore song please. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:45, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I had redirected the song as I could not find evidence of significant coverage in third-party, reliable sources. The chart performance alone is not enough to justify WP:NSONG. The charting and sales information could be conveyed in the main artist page (i.e. Ryan Starr). As I stated in my rationale above, I had proposed this because at the time of my nomination this album article was the only Wikipedia with the title. I was unaware that My Religion was the more common name for Keller's book since that article seemed to primarily use the Light in My Darkness title instead. Aoba47 (talk) 12:50, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I've restored it. See the ref. In ictu oculi (talk) 14:58, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I still fail to see how that reference shows that the song is notable enough for its own article and that it has significant coverage. Aoba47 (talk) 15:00, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
The ref says the song is more notable than the singer. Anyway, if someone wants to do an AfD on any of these subjects go ahead. It's not going to affect WP:NOPT and dab stays at baseline. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:05, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
The song is currently at AFD, and I do not follow the logic of the song being more notable than the singer. The song article has substantial issues, which are currently discussed at the AFD. Either way, it is just a difference of opinion. Again, I formed this discussion back when this was the only Wikipedia article with the title, and now that My Religion (Keller book) exists, I would be okay with withdrawing the discussion if possible since that is no longer the case. • Oppose per 162 etc., ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ and In ictu oculi. Among the four entries listed upon the My Religion disambiguation page, there is no indication that the Norwegian band's album has achieved renown in the English-speaking world to such an extent that it dwarfs the combined prominence of the remaining three entries. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 23:04, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
