Moved from article

  • Can someone actually prove that Najane Kyun was listed on the Original soundtrack for Spiderman 2?*
You should watch the Urdu/Hindi version of spider man 2. that will prove it to you.

I work for Indus Music and I have an observation abuot the article on Pakistani Metal, first of all its very subjective filled with "should be" and "ought to be", secondly its inaccurate. Metal music is rather popular on Indus Music (our Music TV channel) and gets a lot of play. Bands like Mizmaar are progressive metal and CALL, EP, etc. can be termed Nu Metal.

Disambig

In the first paragraph classical link links to the disambiguation page Classical music. My problem is what to change the link to. Should it be European classical music? Foxjwill 18:43, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Heavy metal?

The following paragraph on heavy metal in Pakistan is an arrogant western-oriented unencyclopedic pile of POV and most likely it was copied from another website. It looks more like a plea for the metal scene to be given a chance to thrive in Pakistan. There is a small (and I mean really small) metal scene in Pakistan. The paragraph insults the average listener by suggesting they don't understand the music. Let's not insult the existing musical traditions of Pakistan by moving this irrelevant paragraph to the top. The vast majority of Pakistanis (and I really do mean vast) do not like metal precisely because it is about noise, violence and pain. End of story. Let's leave this article to talk about the actual music of Pakistan and not this outdated cultural colonialism. I have removed the offending paragraph. It should not be reinserted.

==Heavy metal==
The Pakistani music industry has not given the metal scene much of a platform. Such music is only appreciated and heard among a few individuals all around the country. The internet is the biggest platform for all such metal heads because the average listener does not appreciate or accept the message brought forth through the language of noise and violence, let alone pain, torture and suffering. Music is a form of expression that varies from one person to the other. Metal bands such as these should be given a chance. Taking a look at all these bands, one has to think that music is from the heart. It is the expression and the coherence that brings forth its true essence. The Pakistani metal underground is a place where music is made for people who believe in non-commercialism and the perfect picture. From death black, viking black, gothic hardcore and grindcore to doom metal, nu-metal and pure old school death/black metal, bare and brutal, the Pakistani underground metal scene has evolved credibly in the past couple of years. Recently, it has filled with people who dare to aspire and then who make those aspirations visible, rather, perceptible.

Sangeet to music

It has been proposed that Sangeet to music be merged into this article.

Oppose - There is not much in that article worth saving apart from the first "paragraph". It looks like a series of copy-and-paste jobs, without any references or sources being provided. I propose that Sangeet to music be put up for deletion instead, unless someone cleans it up and wikify's it. Green Giant 23:27, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
Comment - I've also just noticed that the user who created that article has a grand total of four contributions to three pages (including the userpage) and all three pages have the same text-dump. Definitely not worth saving.
Comment. The author of Sangeet to music reposted it as Music industry of Pakistan. I have merged it into the latter title. -- RHaworth 16:33, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
