Karaoke

I don't quite understand why someone decided that Karaoke was within the scope of this article, which I believe is meant to cover the performing arts only, and not music as aform of entertainment. Karaoke is a form of entertainment which, although taken very seriously in HK, clearly sticks out like the oddball. I have therefore removed it. Ohconfucius 09:36, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Karaoke is part of the music culture, some may say it makes as big an impression as cantopop culture. I guess if the Music of Japan leaves it out, we should too. It comes down to whether "you want to mention it".... Benjwong 15:33, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Ohconfucius has a good point. However, I'd like to point out that karaoke in HK actually has a big impact on the music industry in HK. Studios know and use karaoke as a form of exposure for their talents, and music videos are pretty much made for karaoke. I'm not just talking about karaoke places either, karaoke DVDs are also very popular. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 15:37, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Unfree image

According to our non-free content criteria, we cannot use a non-free image if a free image could be made to replace it. In this case, it seems clear to me that Janice Vidal could be photographed, and that photograph could be released with a free license. That new photo would illustrate this article just as well as the current album cover does. Furthermore, we can only use non-free images when they contribute significantly to an article in ways that words alone cannot. This clearly isn't the case here. That's why I removed the image from the article. – Quadell (talk) (random) 20:37, 24 June 2007 (UTC)
