Best Method for Adding Information from the Museum itself? edit

What is the most appropriate method of adding primary source material from the Museum to the page? I mean, if I have pictures and documents, how would I source them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spinna17 (talkcontribs) 18:56, 8 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

On the Recent Edits edit

I have recently added a substantial amount of information to this page, some of it sourced from the museum website but a lot also from local sources. The sources and length of the article are appropriate given the size of the museum and if there is a conflict with the amount sourced from the museum's website, that should be addressed instead of a blanket deletion of current pictures and relevant information related to the museum.

I welcome any discussion on how to better improve the page! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Spinna17 (talkcontribs) 19:23, 4 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

WP:COPYVIO is quite clear - you can't just copy large chunks of text from the museum's website - which is why I've removed it again. You need to re-write the information in your own words. I suggest that you do it in small sections, one at a time. If nothing else it will be easier to discuss specific edits/sections individually. Edit-warring - by simply putting all of the text back - is not the answer. Mitch Ames (talk) 12:17, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
Note that simply deleting a few words from the original test constitutes close paraphrasing, which does not stop it being a copyright violation. Hence my "hiding" of some text: [1][2]. Mitch Ames (talk) 11:39, 6 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
