Note on levels edit
Should "shoden" be "Shodan" like in most other ryū? Is this a mistake, or genuinely a different ranking system entirely? LordAmeth 15:18, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi Fred - what's with the external links. Several of them don't seem to have anything to do with the article and in any case we should try to keep them to a minimum. Adding to the article - wikipedia not a link farm for individual dojo and all that. I trimmed the list a tad -there was one that was there twice - I figure a couple of more could go to. Okuden edit
Can anyone provide a reference that Okuden really has anything to do with 100,000,000. My understanding is that the kanji for the two words are different, even though the pronunciation is simlar and they are written the same in English. --145.253.2.30 (talk) 14:55, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- It is indeed bullshit. "Oku" here simply means "inner part". As the reorganizing of the kata in shoden, chūden and okuden was made recently, it has no such connotations. Anyway, here oku is a kun-yomi or Japanese reading, whereas oku meaning "hundred million" is a on-yomi or Chinese reading. Also, in olden times okuden would have probably been read as ō-den (Chinese reading). I'll delete it as I improve the article, which is very badly written. --Bidouleroux (talk) 16:44, 28 May 2009 (UTC)
Age of the style edit
The article states that the style was founded in 1932, but in the "Classical schools of Japanese martial arts" box at the bottom it's in the 16th century category - this seems like an error (though I do not know which would be the correct date) or am I missing something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.51.18.114 (talk) 01:34, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
