Delete for reposted content?

Someone put up a deletion tag on this page for "reposted content" for some reason, the page was made from scrach, the deleted content isn't even available to non-administrators apparently, which makes "reposting" very difficult :)

In any case, is there a real reason this page should be deleted? --Fxer 23:20, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

Yes, for the same reason it was deleted in the first place, murder victims are not inherently encyclopedic and it does not appear that her death has caused anything notable to occur as a result. Anyway, I've gone ahead and sent this to AfD. By the way, I thought people weren't supposed to remove speedy tags from articles they have created. Caerwine 00:46, 1 December 2005 (UTC)
I'd say she's definitely very notable in the Pacific Northwest, and one of the most high profile cases in Oregon in the last decade. Over a year after her disappearance you could still see her picture on city buses and missing person flyers throughout town. People seemed to be pretty conscious of her disappearance as far away as Seattle. Although I'd agree her murder itself isn't notable, I believe there was a degree of notability to the case, whether it was deserved or not. Also, it should be noted that the original VfD count seemed to emphasize the bias and lack of quality in the article. I rewrote it at a later time so as to be more encyclopedic, but it was speedied (per the fact the article had been deleted before). My suggestion would be to restore the older edits, and merge that version with the current version, and then if someone likes they can put it up for deletion again. Sometimes AfD votes aren't against the topic of the article itself, but because of a combination of mediocre notability and a poor quality article. Sarge Baldy 01:03, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Articles for Deletion debate

This article survived an Articles for Deletion debate. The discussion can be found here. -Splashtalk 01:55, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

That's actually a link to the first AfD debate which was delete. The second one which was no consensus is Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Brooke_Wilberger_(2nd_nomination). Tyrenius 15:20, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Myspace hoax?

This sentence has been in the article here for awhile, but I couldn't find any refs for it, so I put it here for the moment. I'm not sure this is even important enough to merit being on the page. --Fxer 20:29, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

In Fall 2004, Wilberger was falsely impersonated on the MySpace website. The perpetrator of the hoax claimed that she had been found and was interested in dating again. The profile was quickly taken down, either by MySpace or by the individual involved.

Possible see also addition

I don't wish to be crass when Wilberger's case is currently in the news, but I think at some point it would be appropriate to have a see also section with Missing white woman syndrome in it. Thoughts? Katr67 (talk) 22:02, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

An excellent suggestion, I didn't know we had an article on that. This would make a great WikiNews piece, too…want to help me work one up? -Pete (talk) 22:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Sounds good if you have a ref. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 22:39, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
She's mentioned in passing in the ref for her name listed in the above-linked article. Katr67 (talk) 22:51, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
Yeah.[1] It's kind of week, though. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 22:53, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Title

Should it be Murder of B W? Does the killer have his own page? - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 17:43, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

I haven't checked the naming conventions for this sort of thing, but I ran across this article: Caylee Anthony homicide, so that might be the best way to do it, with the name first. I was also thinking that the "People from" categories and such should go on the redirect page, I'm not sure how the people who keep track of bios feel about that. Katr67 (talk) 23:18, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
It looks like that one might be wrong, Category:Murders. - Peregrine Fisher (talk) (contribs) 05:00, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
Ah, looks like "Murder of" is the prevailing naming convention. Thanks for checking. Katr67 (talk) 05:04, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Where is Brooke's father?

I came into the show late and never saw her Dad, Greg Wilberger, being interviewed so I can only assume either her parents are divorced or he is dead. If they were divorced, I'm sure he would have been interviewed, but he wasn't. Anybody know? 2601:480:4100:614C:40A3:23E4:D691:2A25 (talk) 03:19, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Sung Koo Kim

Can I get some more eyes on the edits by Special:Contribs/2001:569:7464:7d00:7c45:85b3:efb2:7060? It seems like this person is mostly pushing conspiracy theories about the original suspect, who was later convicted for a different crime. My opinion is that if they think this other person is so notable that they need to be discussed at length on Wikipedia, they should create a separate article about this person. It seems to me from the sources I've seen that no one has really spoken of Sung Koo Kim in the context of the Wilberger case since around 2005. GorillaWarfare (talk) 01:02, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
