Article is about a murder

@Erfan2017: Wikipedia's guidelines about crime is that people notable for a single crime should not have their own biographies but should have an article about the crime, instead. Murders, for example, should be named Murder of <victim> to be consistent with the titles of similar articles. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 06:07, 10 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Also, the title of the Persian version of this article translates into English as "Murder in Hamadan Agricultural Bank". - Cameron Dewe (talk) 06:15, 10 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Cameron Dewe:
Hello Cameron Dewe,
Thank you for your comment. I completely agree that every article should adhere to the guidelines. I chose "Abdulrahman Nafisi" for the article because of his significant role in the incident. In the Farsi version, his picture and biography are also highlighted. We've seen many crimes, but it's rare to hear of a bank manager risking their life to fulfill their duty. It's unimaginable to think of someone's family being threatened by criminals, yet Nafisi had the courage to prioritize his responsibility and maintain public trust in the bank. He is a remarkable figure in the history of banking. However, if this doesn't align with the guidelines, I'm willing to change the title to match the Farsi version. @Erfan2017: This is the English version of Wikipedia, which has its own guidelines for writing articles. The Farsi version has been written and names according to the Farsi guidelines, so attempting to "match" the articles across different language translations could mean that the article might go against the English guidelines, while following the Farsi ones. I merely point out the what the article name in Farsi about this crime translates into in English. The Farsi title, and its translation, implies the Farsi article is about an event, specifically a criminal act, so a corresponding article on the English Wikipedia probably also should be about a criminal act, too. However, naming this article about the person named Abdulrahman Nafisi implies the article is going to be a biography. The problem is that writing a biography on English Wikipedia means that he is a person who is notable for only one event and is also the victim of a crime. Both guidelines advise against writing a biography and recommend writing about the crime, instead. The guideline about violent crimes suggests that naming the article "Murder of Abdulraman Nafisi" offers an appropriate name. You could add the word "family", too, to include the others also killed at the same time. I agree that Nafisi's actions might be seen as notable enough for having a Wikipedia article about his actions, but that isn't sufficient for him having an English Wikipedia biography. So writing about the criminal events is the alternative solution for having a Wikipedia article. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 01:13, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, Cameron Dewe, I appreciate your feedback. I've changed the title as you suggested. Erfan2017 (talk) 23:34, 11 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
