The Federal District of México is divided in Delegaciones, which are comonly referred to (by the postal service, for example) as equivalent to municipalities. Also, the Federal District has a Legislative Body (ALDF) just like all 31 states. I therefore suggest that the Chief of Goverment of the Federal District is equivalent to a state Governor, while the Bourrough Chief (Jefe Delegacional) is equivalent to the Municipal President. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.155.236.12 (talk) 04:32, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

analog of other subdivision heads

According to an excerpt from the Municipalities of Mexico article:

a municipality in Mexico is roughly equivalent to the counties of the United States

So, wouldn't a presidente municipal be more closely analogous to a County executive than to a Mayor as this article states? 69.126.127.193 (talk) 02:45, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Current wording:

The position is comparable to the mayor of a city in the United States although the jurisdiction of a presidente municipal includes not only a city but the municipality surrounding it.

Proposed new wording:

The position is comparable to the county executive of a county in the United States or to the mayor of a city in the United States, although the jurisdiction of a presidente municipal includes not only a city but the municipality surrounding it.
