"citation needed" in "Predation hypothesis" section is redundant

edit

This is the first time I have engaged on the talk page so apologies if I do something wrong

The text in the section says

Herron et al.[49] performed laboratory evolution experiments on the single-celled green alga, Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, using paramecium as a predator. They found that in the presence of this predator, C. reinhardtii does indeed evolve simple multicellular features.[citation needed]

However, the citation earlier in the paragraph (citation 49) links to the study that showed that C. reinhardtii evolved multicellularity, and repeating it would be redundant.

Would it be better to repeat the citation, move the citation to the end of the paragraph, or keep it as is? Wrongperson58 (talk) 04:29, 3 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
