This person hates cats and clearly has an agenda. The request for edit or removal should therefore be denied as they have proven themselves biased and having an agenda against cats, indicating potential mental problems as well as likely cruelty.

Citations

I have been searching for Hadith that state the facts mentioned in this page, but they do not seem to exist. However this story seems to be accepted as legitimate, if a search is carried out on Google, there will be many sites that support it. In this case, what websites would be deemed as legitimate enough to be quoted as a citation? M2k41 22:27, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

There is no single arabic source that talks about the cats name nor the story about the "call to prayer".

Please provide citations as per WP:V. Citations should be from respectable sources, historians etc., and not from a website which doesn't provide a source for it. --Ragib 01:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

In the article's end, it is said that mistreating a cat is seen as a severe sin in Islam, but this is not right, because not especialy cat's are concerned, but any animal that don't make threat to humans. There's a hadith that say that a women went to hell because she let her cat die from starvation but the moral of the hadith doesn't target only the cats but all the other animals.

This page needs to and must be deleted. When it comes to matters of religion we must have solid hadiths or the Quran as sources. If the websites or the books that mention this story are legitimate they would have used a hadith as a source. Also, I believe this story is the story of Abu Hurreira. I am asking you kindly to please change this. Prophet Muhammad used to treat cats kindly, and the last two stories are true (the ones about making wudu, and not torturing animals). The first two stories are not true and need to be edited.

While the story appears not to be especially old or authoritative, it is commonly told. I have edited the article to clearly indicate its status as a popular contemporary folktale that appears to have a fairly recent origin and is generally not considered historically accurate or religiously authoritative.

Removal of unsourced text

The story about Muezza is false

I asked on a famous Saudi fatwa site about Muezza and got following answer:

All Praise is for Allah.

We have not seen any hadith which proves that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had a cat and the rest of the story. Apparently it is false and there is no need to resort to it to prove the compassion of the Prophet (peace be upon him) for animals. There are authentic hadiths which prove that, e.g. the hadith which mentions the Prophet (peace be upon him) letting a cat drink water from a vessel etc.
