Name edit

The Maori name seems to be spelled in two ways - Motuhora & Moutohora. Both come up in Google. Are both right, or is one a common mis-spelling? GrahamBould 12:10, 27 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

The NZ place names database says it's Moutohora Island. Speaking of which, this is now the official name, not Whale Island. I'll move the article to the official name (Moutohora Island) next week, and make Whale Island, New Zealand redirect to this, unless someone objects. -- Avenue (talk) 12:57, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I've finally moved it to the official name (which doesn't include the macron). I'll add a note about this. --Avenue (talk) 15:49, 25 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

Use in popular culture -> Moutohora Macaws -> Quidditch -> Harry Potter??? edit

Im not sure that really counts. it's a bit of a stretch for me.

I'd like to suggest that it be deleted. discuss. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.73.101.156 (talk) 11:20, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

"In popular culture" sections often end up populated with essentially trivial information. This generally seems harmless enough to me, and I usually leave them alone unless they get too long. But if you want to remove it, I won't object. I haven't found any real life consequences of the Quidditch team on the island from a couple of Google searches. --Avenue (talk) 08:44, 5 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.90.19.140 (talk) 03:48, 13 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
