Fair use rationale for Image:Mott album.jpg
editImage:Mott album.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Dueling album cover images
editAn anonymous editor (72.79.130.251) recently removed the UK album cover from the article's infobox. The editor provided no comments / explanation for this deletion. I restored this deleted album cover today in the infobox as an "Alternative cover." The same anonymous user (same IP address anyway) had previously substituted the UK album cover with the US album cover as the "main" cover in the infobox. I'm not sure if there is a Wikipedia consensus on this but I would think that a British band's British album cover would take precedence in an English language wikipedia article - or at least it should be included / represented as an "alternative" cover. At the least it seems reasonable (to me) to include both album covers (especially since they are very different) in the album's infobox. Of course, there are many markets worldwide that could potentially / theoretically have their own versions of cover artwork for the same release and I wouldn't necessarily extend this same argument equally to any and all album cover variations. But I'm not sure why the U.S. cover should be the only one displayed in the infobox in an article about a British band's album - even if the U.S. cover is the more widely recognized (used in larger markets) than the British cover.
