Naming Problem

The device should be named the Motorola XOOM MZ600 as this is how it is referred to by Motorola. Should Motorola choose to release another model of the XOOM, there will be problems. 108.2.116.114 (talk) 03:07, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

You are correct. However, this article refers to the Motorola Xoom, not an individual model. The EVDO, GSM, and WiFi models do have different model identifiers, but since this article encompasses all three, I believe that it should be changed back to simply stating "Motorola Xoom." there is now a new Xoom version out there, the Motorola Xoom Family Edition. Apparently only sold thru Best Buy, it has different hardware. I took a look at one recently. Capital letters

ALLCAPS? Should the word "Xoom" actually be all capital letters (e.g. "XOOM"). It appears this is Motorola's naming convention for the XOOM devices. Andage01 (talk) 17:31, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Use of Press Images

I believe that the use of press release images in an article is a violation of the owner's rights. These images are not released under a compatible license, and should not be uploaded by end users claiming that they are the original owners. I believe (I'm no expert with images) that you'd have to release the image(s) you wanted into the public domain in order to upload them to Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons, which is where public domain files usually go so that all Wikimedia Foundation projects can use them. The relevent instructions are at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials (there is also a somewhat simpler version at Wikipedia:Contact us/Photo submission); if there's something there that's unclear, I'd advise asking questions at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions (I think you'd get the fastest response here) or emailing permissions-commons@wikimedia.org. Super Bowl Advertisement Controversy?

Aside from the originator of the Do Not Disconnect video complaining that the Motorola commercial is similar, is there any real controversy to this? It seems to me that the person who made that video just put that section into this article. The language describing the two videos doesn't seem very neutral to me either. It certainly tries to paint the two videos as very similar (in my opinion, they are only passingly similar; neither video pioneered the idea of the iPhone/iPad homogenizing people and culture). From an online search this 'controversy' only seems to exist in the form of identical comments across different articles and a few forum/blog posts. Should this be removed? units of power, energy, &c

power is energy per time . . eg. joules per second
 - the unit is `watt`  ( 1 watt  =  1 volt . 1 ampere )

energy (in electronics) is power times time (pt) . . a battery capacity is in energy
 - the unit is `joule` 

listing mAh`s as power isn`t correct, it isn`t even incorrect . . .

its like saying you went the gas station and got 6 square feet of gas

 .. and mWh is indirect (and goofy, introducing 3600 from a time when people were afraid of comets and the concept of zero was cutting edge math)

I know it may seem goofy, that's just the convention used by battery makers. Pick up almost any rechargeable battery and you will see: The normal operating voltage and the current x hours. Lack of Honeycomb 3.1 updates outside of USA

There probably should be some kind of information or commentary related to Motorola's refusal/unreadiness/inability to supply Honeycomb 3.1 updates for Xoom owners outside of the United States. It's been about 8 weeks since the 3.1 release and I believe no territory outside of the US has the update as of yet. I've tried to make some changes in order to address this issue. Motorola have not stated why the 3.1 update was not made available outside of the USA. If I were permitted to guess I'd suggest that non-American sales were not sufficient to justify the project. That's conjecture. --Salimfadhley (talk) 22:53, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
