Controversy section, POV

I added a controversy section and added the new lead paragraph and removed this paragraph: "It is also worth noting that the MSF has attempted to bury and ignore overwhelming research evidence that indicates a novice rider is at a greater risk of crashing when they take the current curriculum offered by the MSF. It has also been alleged that in the Pennsylvania program in 2007 the MSF had worked to cover up the deaths and paralysis of two students in their program." for making extreme and dubious claims with no evidence or citation at all.

I know nothing about this subject whatsoever, just came across the article and had to do something. Anyone actually knowledgeable about the subject in question please feel free to do whatever else is needed, thanks! Blurble (talk) 20:45, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

The information on Pennsylvania was most likely posted by someone familiar with the state training program, not by myself. With regards to crashes, the statistics are widely available regarding single rider crashes involving riders going off the range. This is a similar but higher statistic with RidersEdge curriculum, and anecdotal evidence points to the use of heavier and higher torque motorcycles (Sportster and Buell). Curriculum

Discussion continued from user page ... there is an empty section for course content at Motorcycle Safety Foundation#Course descriptions. Of course feel free to change to a better section title if this isn't the best. -- Brianhe (talk) 17:40, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Details about the curriculum that have been published in third party sources are on the firmest ground. We don't need to go into excessive detail, and anything covered by major media is likely to be considered encyclopedic. That doesn't mean we can't also have details only found in MSF publications, but we should use caution and not list every part of every course. A general outline, with emphasis on what makes the MSF different from a generic motorcycle course, should be the goal. If we can find Featured Article-quality articles about colleges and universities, or similar institutions, that can be our guide as well. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 19:49, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
