editThe article is currently dominated by the aperture problem. This is certainly an interesting and important problem, but I have the feeling that the article first needs some more information about the basics, like motion detectors etc. --171.64.204.98 00:01, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
"...information about the basics, like motion detectors etc." You've got to be kidding! Spatial and temporal differencing as a means of detecting motion is warping my mind! It's not 'basics'!!! :P
Okay, this page is rapidly turning into a vanity page for Dale Purves. There are far too many citations that link externally to his website (readers will need to flip back and forth between this page and Purves' site) and yes - the aperture problem is therefore beginning to dominate the discussion. Either integrate the material on this page or simply provide a link to your site where these things can be discussed in the level of detail you require. Famousdog 19:32, 8 May 2006 (UTC)
Moreover, it seems that only the visual aspect of motion perception is discussed here. But motion perception results from a multi-sensroy integration (N. Fillard, Dr M. Dagdelen).
Agreed, and moreover, there are statements here that are controversial, such as whether the dorsal and ventral streams have the functions indicated in this article. Many argue that there is more complexity than simply saying the dorsal stream does "location and motion". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.63.92.162 (talk) 18:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Merge
editThere is a long-standing proposal to merge Motion sensing in vision and Motion perception as the two pages have heavily overlapping, if not identical, scope. I therefore support the merge. Klbrain (talk) 13:37, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
