Talk:Mosul question

@Onceinawhile: I have that source, it's quite good but the position is a little bit more complicated. Although the British were not opposed militarily (ie there was no actual fighting) they were opposed by the local commander and there were discussions back and forth and the local commander wanted confirmation from HO and the British said that the armistice allowed it and anyway they were going to do it regardless. Sources vary on the precise date of occupation but it is say 1 to 2 weeks after the effective date of armistice, the 1st. Leter the Turks refused to accept the validity of the occupation and this is what the Mosul question is. I will write it up a bit later.Selfstudier (talk) 22:51, 12 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the Map: Modern superimposed borders: The section very south-east of the red-colored area, that strange section that goes into Iran, is totally wrong and has nothing to do with the modern border between Iraq and Iran...93.237.17.6 (talk) 10:39, 3 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

The source given for the image has the same map so we must accept it absent a contradictory source.Selfstudier (talk) 10:49, 3 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
