Talk:Moriah College

Lousy quality edit

The quality of this article suggests it has been written by junior students who should have spent more time in class, rather than on Wikipedia. For example: "In 2005 it was found that a knife culture was present among students of Moriah College. This news sent shockwaves around the Sydney Jewish community.[5] The culprit involved was since asked to leave the school, to which he complied."

One "culprit" (sic) represents a "culture"?

Or another example: "In 2007 Moriah made headlines". Sorry, "headlines" in the local Jewish newspaper, is hardly "making headlines". It seems to be little more than scuttlebutt.

Don't even get me started on "Notably, Moriah controversially does not accept students who are not Jewish", which is neither notable, nor well written.

This whole piece needs a rework. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.206.174.152 (talk) 00:46, 25 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Copyvio? edit

The information in the opening paragraph of the article as well as some information in other sections appears to be directly copied from Moriah's official page on their core values. The History section is also astonishingly similar to Moriah's page on its history. Blatant copyvio here. I don't want to put the copyvio tag in though, because I'd ruin the article, and I don't want to do that, it promotes the school well :) . I'll see if I can rewrite it, but I'll speak to User:Barkochbar about it first. -- Daverocks (talk) 07:15, 15 June 2006 (UTC) Reply

OK, so he got permission from the president of the College to use it. Sounds strange, I know, but trust me, it's true. -- Daverocks (talk) 13:09, 15 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Just chiming in again, the above information is completely irrelevant now because it referred to the old article, which was deleted for copyvio. -- Daverocks (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deletion edit

Unfortunately the school is very unhappy with this article. Can it be deleted ASAP? -- Barkochbar 22:54, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Delete a page for the reason that the articles subject is not happy with it. So what service would that be Barkochar, to the users of wikipedia ? Perhaps if Moriah College is to put an offical notice, which includes a reason as to why they want the page deleted, it might be. If they cannot even honour us with their presence in an offical form, then why should wikipedia treat Moriah college any differently ? The subject of an article should have some say in the article and be allowed to request that is it deleted given reason. (dbmoodb) 05:15, 8th August 2007 (UT
