editLogged three times, and yet there is no trace of the logging?
Doesn't it take over a hundred years for old growth forests to be restored?
These assertions do not compute. Geo Swan (talk) 18:31, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
- Good point; the wording is unfortunate and possibly from a pro-forestry source; there are always signs of previous logging - stumps, springboard-cuts, etc. Perhaps a better wording would be "there are few signs of logging". A true old growth forest is more like (not sure about the North Coast) a few hundred years, not 100 - it only takes 60 years or less on the South Coast for a mature stand" of second-growth - pretty large trees, but still not "old growth" which implies original, undisturbed vegetation (other than the trees) and a mix of large-tree species (vs. replanted areas, which are monocultures typically).Skookum1 (talk) 19:03, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Fixed wording. Thechristiancontender (talk) 05:57, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
