Manmade Moonstone
editCould anyone expand on this subject. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.181.97.102 (talk) 09:56, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Manmade Moonstone == Reply
editA manmade moonstone is a gem that is created in a lab. It is basically a simulated stone created by man and not by mother nature.
Man made gems are usually lab created to make it exactly the same as a real genuine gemstone but sold at about a fraction of what an authentic or genuine gemstone would cost.
Doubling
editThe page describes the same mineral that is portrayed at this page. --Arex ru (talk) 11:12, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
Sites I used
editI found information on sites that sell moonstone jewelry and I don't see why we can't use these sites since they have similar information to the official sites. Rapetkewicz (talk) 13:18, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- We don't need to promote commercial websites. As noted on your talk, please read WP:RS, a website selling gemstones is not a reliable source. Vsmith (talk) 13:46, 23 April 2012 (UTC)
- Most of those sites included the same information that is included in the page already Rapetkewicz (talk) 13:46, 26 April 2012 (UTC)

Alternative images
editPhotosubmissions received three photos of a Moonstone found in 1918 on an expedition to Mt Kilimanjaro. Possibly the world's largest. Some combination of the following images may be appropriate for the article.
-
Moonstone from Africa
-
Moonstone compared to hen's egg
-
Moonstone on scale
--SPhilbrick(Talk) 20:36, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
- Seems the only one would be the first (don't need the egg and scale) with a note of dimensions and mass/wt in the caption. Vsmith (talk) 21:12, 4 August 2012 (UTC)
Pokemon?
editIs the line about Pokemon evolution really relevant?--71.62.31.168 (talk) 07:38, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
- No. Gone. Vsmith (talk) 13:33, 24 January 2013 (UTC)
Chakras? Give me a break!
editAt the end it states blandly with ref. 7, "Balances brow chakra and opens crown chakra[7]" What, really? Give me a break with this occult nonsense! At best, it should say, "In occult nonsense-land, moonstone is said to..." I would be interested in the article on the pan-balance microscale (and its operation) that determines whether chakras are balanced or not. 66.241.130.86 (talk) 14:56, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
- Removed it as rather meaningless/incomplete? or just nonsense. Vsmith (talk) 01:29, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
Possible removal from list
editEntries in List of colors: G–M contained links to this page.
The entries are :
- Moonstone
- Moonstone blue
I don't see any evidence that these colors are discussed in this article and plan to delete them from the list per this discussion: Talk:List_of_colors#New_approach_to_review_of_entries
If someone decides that these colors should have a section in this article and it is added, I would appreciate a ping.--S Philbrick(Talk) 20:50, 26 August 2018 (UTC)
"In ancient culture"
editThe section currently titled "In ancient culture" provides no source, is badly spelled, and generally doesn't seem to be Wikipedia quality material. I suggest either deleting, or expanding with useful information from a credible source. 204.69.190.254 (talk) 16:52, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- It is gone. Thanks. Vsmith (talk) 00:29, 18 September 2018 (UTC)
Marbles?
editIncluded photo seems to indicate that Moonstone has something to do with marbles, however nothing of this is mentioned in the article.
