Why is this hidden away with Mont Brule a redlink? Gene Nygaard (talk) 10:03, 23 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

– Unlikely that the extra diacritic is sufficient for WP:SMALLDETAILS here. I'm however unsure about a disambiguation tag, since these are both in the Pennine Alps. 162 etc. (talk) 16:09, 14 June 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 20:50, 22 June 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 08:41, 30 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment. One option might be to leave both main title headers as is and simply convert the Mont Brule redirect to Mont Brulé into a disambiguation page that would list the four-sentence stub for Mont Brulé as well as the two-sentence stub for Mont Brûlé. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 19:19, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
This proposed alternative does not address the fact that the current titles are insufficiently disambiguated. 162 etc. (talk) 22:49, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The nominator makes a good point. Mont Brulé says it is also known as Mont Brûlé, which means a disambiguator is necessary. I can think of three:
  1. Region/valley. One would be Mont Brulé (Arolla), the other Mont Brûlé (Val d'Entremont).
  2. Municipality/commune. This is challenging since mountain peaks naturally form the border between communes, but we could pick one for each mountain. Unfortunately I have to use Google Maps for this, since I can't figure out how to show the political boundaries on Swisstopo. For Mont Brulé, the commune is extremely unclear, it might also be Arolla, or Bionaz in Italy. The other title would be Mont Brûlé (Liddes), or Orsières or Bagnes.
  3. Height. Mont Brulé (3578m) and Mont Brûlé (2572m), spaces and commas removed for concision.
I don't like the height option, since who would know exactly how tall a mountain is? The commune one gets confusing, but could be workable. I strongly support moving Mont Brulé to Mont Brulé (Arolla). The other one is tougher, but Mont Brûlé (Val d'Entremont) is probably least controversial. Inputs from 162 etc. would be helpful. For convenience, the Swisstopo maps are at [1] and [2]. Toadspike [Talk] 14:01, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
No objection to Mont Brulé (Arolla) and Mont Brûlé (Val d'Entremont). 162 etc. (talk) 15:54, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
