Where geographically? edit

There are granges in England as well, but I don't know enough to expand the article accurately. Osomec 07:06, 16 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Did (monastic) granges exist: only in England? Also Wales, Scvotalnd, and/or Ireland? Also elsewhere in Europe? Acwilson9 (talk) 21:51, 21 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Meaning vs. origin of the word edit

I believe the word comes from the French and means barn, hence a place for stocking food, not growing it.

That may be the origin of the word, but that does not change the meaning. It definitely refers to a farm or manor house belonging to an abbey. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dickpenn (talkcontribs) 08:55, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
