Sections and Citations edit

I've added section headings where I think it would be helpful to the reader. I also added some citation tags; I've never heard of a torii in front of a Buddhist temple, and stating that something is "unknown" is a pretty sweeping statement, but may be true. Still, with all the archaeologists and historians and professors, I would think somebody somewhere came up with a working hypothesis on their origin, which is what is found in the main article torii. Of course, it's not necessary to re-write all that origin information, but a summary sentence would do: "The origins of the torii are unknown, though there are competing theories for its origin in Southeast Asia, though it may have evolved in Japan from a utilitarian boundary into the formalized and symbolic structure known today (citation, citation, citation...)" Or something like that. Boneyard90 (talk) 01:17, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
