GA Review edit

This review is transcluded from Talk:Moment of Surrender/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

I'm starting to enjoy reviewing these U2 articles; they're really exemplary work. I'll get on this soon.

I've been there with my cell phone (shouldn't it be mobile phones, by the way?), and it's truly a great song. The article is well referenced and well written, there's just a couple of minor issues. First of all, the lead is really too short for an article this size. It should probably be about twice as long; there is nothing on "Composition" and "Live performances", and there could probably be a couple of lines more on "Writing and recording" and "Reception" as well. I also question the wisdom of a single-sentence paragraph at the end of the "Live performances" section. Apart from this it should be ready to go. Lampman (talk) 04:51, 6 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your concerns should now be addressed. Thanks! Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 04:19, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Great, good work. By the way, I guess there were no images available? I looked at commons, but I couldn't find any concert images that seemed to relate directly to this song. Lampman (talk) 04:36, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
I actually took some photos during the one show that I went to. I didn't think much of them, but I have one shot of the "galaxy of mobile phones". I think another photo that we can use in the article is the free image in the No Line on the Horizon article of a riad - maybe it would be of value to put it in the Writing and Recording section here? The pictures are good; the article was a bit visually dull before. The problem now is that the text says nothing about the recording being made in a riad, and the caption isn't sourced. Can you add something here? Lampman (talk) 11:22, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ok, the prose in the article body is cited now. Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 13:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

New concert photo edit

I just uploaded File:U2 360 Moment of Surrender.jpg to Commons, to be used in this article, not knowing that there was already an image in the live section. I was wondering if anyone things the new image should be used instead. It doesn't matter to me, it's not my image so I won't be offended, I just wanted to get another opinion here to avoid a lame edit war. –Dream out loud (talk) 20:16, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Are you sure that is "Moment of Surrender"? It looks a lot more like "Ultraviolet" to me; the lighting matches the latter, and you can see on the video screen (and - barely - on the main stage ) that Bono is using the captain's wheel, which was withdrawn at the end of "With or Without You". It's a great image, but I have to agree with Melicans. I'm suspicious that this was actually from "Moment of Surrender". Y2kcrazyjoker4 (talk) 02:30, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I think this would work even better in place of the current image on the "Ultraviolet" article. I'm absolutely positive this is not "MoS", despite what the file name says. Melicans (talk, contributions) 03:50, 17 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
