Church courts edit

Surely they are courts in a legal sense - cases can be brought and deliberations made on the basis of Church law. Thoughts, anyone? Nodrog75 (talk) 09:55, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

In fact, McGillivray (3rd edition - 2009) [2nd ed is listed in the article] explicitly states that "Church courts ... are not courts in name only but are as much courts of the land as is any civil court, having an authority and powers that are every bit as binding within their jurisdiction as those of a civil court are in its." - the grammar may leave something to be desired but the point is surely clear? I will leave this comment for a few weeks then amend the article if there is no response. Nodrog75 (talk) 16:44, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Quite right. I have fixed the text. --Doric Loon (talk) 20:35, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Depute Clerk to the GA edit

...is no longer a full-time position. Once I find a source (maybe after 2010 GA) I'll try and amend this. Nodrog75 (talk) 10:24, 17 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
