editIn Burton's press tours and related interviews she identifies her spouse as a transgender man. I have left the girlfriend as is in the sentence about Chicago in 2010 as it's unclear if her girlfriend then is her spouse now and while the policies and best practices around Dead Names are clear, it's not as clear with previous gender expression if it is the same person.
