Page too early? edit

I'm wondering if this page is a bit too early, mainly because:

  • Where has it been said that this specifically a Destiny movie? All we know so far is that it'll be set after Destiny. That's like calling Char's Counterattack 'Gundam ZZ: The Movie'
  • Stellar hasn't been confirmed, just rumoured to possibly appear in a flashback --HellCat86 21:03, 4 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • I removed "Destiny" from the title of this article. The reason is stated in the history. Though what you said contributed to it too.--Darkhunger 15:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
      • Put "Destiny" back in the title because if Lacus is on the PLANT Supreme Council then it has to take place after Destiny and leave it like that until they release the official name for the movie--MCDBBlits 19:24, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
        • Again, CCA wasn't called Gundam ZZ: The Movie...--HellCat86 21:51, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Movie edit

well, since this movie is named Mobile Suit Gundam Seed The Movie, I guess Bandai America screwed up then huh? I mean they named the Special Edition's the Movies, so I wonder what theyare going to name this. Dudeman74 20:35, 20 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • It seems this is just the in-production title. Western companies just have a habit of referring to movies based on shows as (insert title)- The Movie. If you saw that on a cinema poster or a DVD/VHS case you'd know quickly what it was. I'm sure the actual movie will be titled something like "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED- (Insert subtitle)".--HellCat86 00:57, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

should the "Followed by (in production order): Unannounced" part be there or should it be deleted until there is another production?

Link to Trailer edit

Someone should add a link to the teaser trailer, since it seems to be the basis for most of the speculation.--86.132.171.207 13:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • That would likely be hard, if not impossible. The trailer was only shown at a convention and reports say it's just the VAs of the characters making some vague comments. It's basically more of "Hey, we decided to do a SEED movie" trailer, rather than a more in-depth teaser.--HellCat86 14:21, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Spoiler edit

I hadn't finished watching Destiny and I didn't know Stellar died. That information(Presumably a flashback) didn't get marked a spoiler.

Also, it's not necessarily a flashback as if you remember Stellar had very unique biology because of the drug treatments. It's possible because of that she went into some kind of biological stasis instead of dying. Probably not, but SEED has lots of weird things like that and it never really followed up on the Extended's biology.

  • You're probably right it should be marked. This is the problem, given for alot of us various events are already known. Also, how much responsibility does an article on a sequel have to protect info on a prequel?

I doubt it'll be the same Stella. Fukuda has let characters cheat death but I don't think it'd apply here.--HellCat86 20:46, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hard to say. Waltfeld lived through an explosion that killed the women he was embracing at the time, Kira lived through the point blank detonation of a mobilesuit, and Fllaga survived an explosion followed by subsequent exposure to space. In the latter case, the character's death was even important in setting up the dramatic tension for the series' finale. Stellar, by contrast, was hit by a few small pieces of shrapnel, and did not even appear to be bleeding when she died. That being said, I agree with you, I highly doubt Fukuda will bring her back. She seems more like a Nicol 2.0 to me. 68.148.224.47 08:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

lol. kira never dies. he was in an exposion wen athrun made aegis self destruct. and shinn stabbed freedom right in the cockpit and he still doesnt die. i guess the creators just cant kill of one of their star characters

im not sure if this page will be any help...but its worth a try:http://bbs.ikunlun.net/?action=show_topic&topic_id=83127&forum_id=6&class_id=0

Info edit

We seem to have a start of a problem- since the trailer is so rare, people are starting to call the cast list mere speculation. Whilst there's still alot about this film unknown, it's important this article doesn't discount what is there.Just because it's not all over the web doesn't mean it's flat out false.--HellCat86 23:01, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Honestly speaking, I do suspect that either its in production hell or such a project was never started in the first place. I mean, maybe their announcement on this movie was a mere presentation of a possible GS movie (to put it simply, we misunderstood their intentions). 220.255.135.157 11:11, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
The thing is, it's been followed up. Newtype magazine even contributed 2 guesses as to what will happen, for all the good that does...--HellCat86 11:32, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
But, I mean until now we don't even get a simple picture or any information out of it. So what if Newtype magazine contributed 2 guesses to the plot? Correct me if I'm wrong, but although Newtype magazine may be the most reliable source of info regarding Gundam, the magazine itself is not owned by Sunrise or Bandai, am I right? (As I said, I'm not exactly 100% sure. So correct me if I'm wrong)

220.255.135.68 13:48, 21 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

I don't know who edited in the Gundam Ace reference, but it was baseless speculation, and therefore was removed. The same with the timeline date. We don't know if this will take place in CE74 or not. GSD started two years after... the movie could be 5 years later for all we know.

Cast edit

I removed the characters' casts since none of them are confirmed to appear in the movie. Since wikipedia is not a crystal ball, well yeah. 220.255.70.116 10:28, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Captain Meyrin? edit

Any idea if the picture here [1]is a production drawing or fan art? Edward321 13:53, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Near certain it's fan art. In fact, the pose almost looks copied from another anime character.--HellCat86 16:40, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Could be conceptual.--Tempest115 19:49, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Copied from which anime character? Edward321 02:55, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaname_Chidori I just really doubt this official, it's been blowing around for weeks and Sunrise isn't known for leaks. It REALLY looks like high quality fan art. There's something not quite right about the design style, something not of Hirai.--HellCat86 10:37, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
http://seed-revival.hp.infoseek.co.jp/jinbutu/jinbutu.html It's some kind of Japanese fan created sequel.--HellCat86 12:29, 12 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Movie OP edit

Someone keeps trying to add this but it's clearly fake. A good deal of the images are clearly poorly cropped from scenes in Destiny. There's also a pan of a Luna and Meyrin poster.--HellCat86 20:09, 27 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Athrun in ZAFT edit

Was this revealed in the trailer? Because at the end of DESTNIY Special Edition 4 ("The Cost of Freedom"), Athrun is still wearing an Orb uniform while Luna, Shinn, and Kira are all wearing their ZAFT suits, indicating that Athrun still belongs to Orb.--208.104.210.174 03:56, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I believe the source is cited. It's from a quite recent Gundam Ace feature on the PLANT council.--HellCat86 11:43, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
This is getting silly. People keep removing this, even though it's the most recent info we have and from an official source. I myself own the very magazine the info has been cited from. Until Sunrise/Bandai see fit to make any more concrete statments on the movie, I believe this information should remain.--HellCat86 23:25, 31 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Hm? It's clear from the actual movie the affiliation this character. In any case, actual Movie footage takes precedent over an undeclared source. -- 76.64.185.213 (talk) 21:57, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
What undeclared source? It's an article from Gundam Ace, the official Gundam magazine and was published AFTER the Special Editions. It's the most recent official source we have to go on and therefore we have to place it in the article has such.--HellCat86 (talk) 00:05, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Development Hell? edit

Well it's been nearly two years without ANY informetion pertaining to the film since it's announcement. I hate to say it, but is it time to label it as in "Development Hell"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DonJuan.EXE (talkcontribs) 00:48, 3 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

It does seem to have gone very quiet. However, we seem to have projects to keep CE fans going like the fan discs and Frame Astrays. Some speculate this is to allow focus on 00 currently but keep CE fans ready for when the film is set to go.--HellCat86 (talk) 02:48, 3 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I did some cleanup reflecting its uncertain status. If your speculation is true, this movie might not come out till 2009 or 2010. So this may need an eventual merge with the Gundam or GSD articles in the mean time.--Finalnight (talk) 06:06, 24 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Edit war edit

This is troubling. It's claimed the source is the same Gundam Ace article as the other information but I'm doubtful. ESPECIALLY since the editor keeps adding Meyrin as 'Meyrin Hawke Zala'. If Meyrin was officially engaged/married to Athrun, I imagine this would have been heard about back when the original info from this now months old article first appeared. To me this just sounds like people insisting favourite characters get mentioned. Case in point, inserting Luna into the mention of the trailer when the one confirmed report didn't mention her at all.--HellCat86 (talk) 22:07, 10 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

The part sourced by the Gundam Ace article was added on 07:53, May 23 2007 [2] with a forum thread link in the edit summary, and even that forum thread doesn't mention "Meyrin Hawke Zala". --Silver Edge (talk) 21:45, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Quite frankly, this article is becoming more trouble than it's worth. I just checked the issue. It's the 6/2007 one (Char's Zaku on the cover), with the info in a profile on Yzak. Ths list is as Deacon Blues typed it. NO mention of Meyrin. Something needs to be done. Someone is making a mistake here and given the evidence I'm inclined to believe it's a stubborn fan trying to pass off false info/personal bias as fact.--HellCat86 (talk) 22:50, 16 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
198.85.213.1 (talk · contribs) has a history of inserting original research into Gundam SEED-related articles. Such as:
This is definitely a problem editor. Considering their edits about ships and events that do not occur in the series, I suspect they have mistaken events in a fanfic for actual events. Obviously, the article does not mention Meyrin being engaged or married to Athrun as the diehard Asucaga fans would still be screaming. Edward321 (talk) 14:41, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
