editUh. Philipines aside, this article should reflect that this is how Spanish speaking peoples call Midnight mass. –Andyluciano 06:45, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- Changed it a little. Perhaps this article would make sense merged somewhere else, however. I really don't think it makes a lot of sense to have an article on the Spanish phrase for "Midnight mass" consist entirely of information on the Philippines, a country where most of the inhabitants don't even speak Spanish. –Andyluciano 06:54, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
This article should change it's tittle to "Misa de Gallo in the Phillipines". I'm looking for information about Misa de Gallo but in general, in all Spanish countries, not in the Phillipines.
the Philippines is the only country permitted by the Vatican to celebrate 9 days of Misa de Gallo Kevin (talk) 06:07, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Someone forgot to tell us here in the US about that rule. I've attended Simbang Gabi Masses for the last two years with my local ordinary. Gentgeen (talk) 09:35, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
Several comments on the Article
editFirst, I agree with some previous comments: this seems more an article on the Philippines than on the Misa del Gallo. Also, I think the main article should be under "Misa del Gallo". It seems that "Misa de Gallo" is a direct translation from "Misa-de-galyo", in Tagalog; in most Spanish speaking countries it is called "Misa del Gallo". Finally, the reference to Montserrat is correct but misleading. The mass is celebrated in every parish, but the one at Montserrat seems to be specially beautiful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.14.242.28 (talk) 17:53, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
No sense
editThis article makes no sense. The concept barely exists, it's just a name or nickname in Spanish language and this is the English Wikipedia. This Misa del Galo is just the same Roman Catholic midnight mass that Catholics around the world celebrate.83.58.215.116 (talk) 20:05, 24 December 2016 (UTC)
- You are right about the second part. I guess there used to be more on Simbang Gabi, which has a separate article now for about 7 years. What I would suggest, moving forward, is that we rename to something in English such as Christmas Midnight Mass and describe celebrations around the world, as well as the unique features of the liturgical text. That would depend on WP:RS being gathered. But I think it would be possible. Elizium23 (talk) 23:15, 24 December 2016 (UTC)

Galician Egeria
edityes she was Galician, but there is more than one Galicia. The reader shouldn't have to go to the article on Galicia to find out which one is meant. --142.163.194.149 (talk) 18:04, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
