In fact, comparing this with the very next item (Express-News, 9-19-93) reveals they are the same. It's odd that the Houston Chronicle piece published first. I'd excise the Chronicle reference.
  • The September 17, 1993, article in the El Paso Times is the same column.

That's in Rhode Island, so this checks out there, but the only mention of a music store in Massachusetts doesn't seem to match the article claim: A clerk at Strawberries in Seekonk said the store did not have any Selena records, but would order them if customers wanted them. This is acceptable if mention of Massachusetts is dropped.
