From the article "While the Habsburgs who occupied Transylvania in 1551 wanted a ruler devoted to their cause in Wallachia, the new governor of Transylvania, the imperial general Castaldo backed Radu Ilie, who, also surrounded by boyars in exile, crossed the border into Wallachia in November 1552."

"While" usually introduces a contrast, but I don't see the contrast. I suggest one of the following, depending which is meant:

If no contrast was meant, "Because the Habsburgs who occupied Transylvania in 1551 wanted a ruler devoted to their cause in Wallachia, the new governor of Transylvania, the imperial general Castaldo backed Radu Ilie, who, also surrounded by boyars in exile, crossed the border into Wallachia in November 1552."
If the contrast was meant "While the Habsburgs who occupied Transylvania in 1551 supported Mircea as a ruler devoted to their cause in Wallachia, the new governor of Transylvania, the imperial general Castaldo backed Radu Ilie, who, also surrounded by boyars in exile, crossed the border into Wallachia in November 1552."

Also, in general, inline references would be good. - Jmabel | Talk 19:52, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
