My assumption is that the state of Miranda is named after Francisco de Miranda. I would like to add this fact to the articles -- if it's true. Can anybody confirm that this is the case? Cgingold 02:51, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

The flag looks like a modification of the flag of the Federal Republic of Germany. Is this connected or is it coincidence? Pbrower2a (talk) 02:02, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
