Convoluted definition

Defining minority in terms of majority then majority in terms of majority is going round in circles. The article then makes a false academic/colloquial distinction. There are different meanings of the word but they are not peculiar to academic/colloquial uses.
"the social majority, that is, those who hold the majority of positions of social power in a society." Here numerical majority is used to define social majority. Also the number of positions is not so important as the total amount of power held by the majority. Simpler: "the social majority has the greater share of social power."

", despite its popular mis-association with a numerical, statistical minority." this part of the sentence should be removed. It is not "despite" anything when the term is being used with its social sciences' meaning. 87.115.168.0 (talk) 13:38, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

The whole beginning of this article is plagarized. I started trying to work on it, then I found the original at http://www.ccsenet.org/journal/index.php/jpl/article/viewFile/60511/33251 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.42.35.51 (talk) 21:23, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

I rewrote the lead and definitions section. I tried to address both of the above comments in doing so. SocyProf (talk) 13:21, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

New Article

Hello! I am working on creating a new article for Homophobia toward Ethnic Minorities in the United States. To accomplish this, I will use some of the information that exists on the parent article, Homophobia in ethnic minority communities, and add more detail to all of the sections that focus on the United States. I will also create a section for Native-Americans and detail their experiences of homophobia within the US. T.scott0513 (talk) 07:53, 26 September 2018 (UTC)

Racial minority?!?!?

I find it mind-boggling that a page with a list of minority groups does not include racial minority on that list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mdhilliard (talkcontribs) 04:19, October 16, 2018 (UTC)

WP:BEBOLD and add section then. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:39, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

National minority

This is currently a redirect here, but I think it should be a stand alone article. It is a more narrow topic than just a minority group. Ex. minorities can be racial or religious, too. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:38, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
