Talk:Minimum wage in Canada

So, the minimum wage that can be paid in Canada is really a lot less than the minimum stated, right? In B.C., you can pay someone as low as $6. Ergo, BC has the lowest minimum wage. Don't allow corporate euphemisms, such as "training" wage, deter you from the truth and reality.

Response: It isn't really a "corporate euphemism" as you put it. It would seem like after 500 hours of job experience in your lifetime, they're required to pay you the actual minimum wage. It's a bit weird, sure, but calling six bucks an hour the actual minimum wage would be quite misleading, if not a straight up lie. Having it as an additional note works just fine.

alberta edit

I did not know that alberta had such a low wage before they also have the highest cost of living, or whatever the phrase may be, in all of the true provinces, aside from the northern territories which needs almost evertything to be flown in or have special winter roads made during the winter season. - edited --Dieselweasel 11:06, 3 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Avoid jumping the gun edit

At this time, 2 increases have been modified AHEAD of the date it was to take effect. Please try not to do so until the date indicated and NOT before, just in case some last moment revision is done. Some people may still need to know what the rates are at the present time BEFORE the rise of the rate. That-Vela-Fella (talk) 13:00, 20 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ontario exprience review edit

If someone has time, it would be great to add the Ontario 2018 experience of $14 which seems to NOT have impacted jobs: [1] [2] Xocophil (talk) 13:02, 12 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Can we move the controversy stuff out of these articles and into a minimum wage controversy article? There is a lot of evidence that these arguments don't hold (I should know, I'm reading *and writing* some of it) and leaving this scattered all over Wikipedia means as the evidence shapes up and a position becomes unsupportable it will still be portrayed as strong and valid *somewhere* until *every* page replicating the topic has been found and updated.
