Untitled edit

If this weapon was developed in 1849, how was it issued to Zouaves in North Africa in 1846?

I removed the 1846 statement - could not find any other source to back it up. Dcheng (talk) 23:05, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Buck and Ball claim edit

The article claims buck and ball was the common load for military smoothbore muskets. I've never seen reference to buck and ball as a military musket load. It's possible it may have been used in the US, but it certainly wasn't the standard elsewhere, where ball was the standard. I've left the claim for now, but it needs supporting or withdrawing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.11.66.40 (talk) 15:31, 18 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
