Proposed merge edit

The Mingoola, New South Wales and the Mingoola, Queensland article are fundamentally about the same (cross-border) locality and should be merged into an article simply called Mingoola. This is based on the same principle as similarly cross-border Mungindi to the west. The two Mingoolas share a Queensland postcode, for example-- Mattinbgn (talk) 22:20, 23 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Support - Seems reasonable. I wonder who they support in State of Origin? --AussieLegend () 03:45, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. As for the question above, I understand Mungindi divides over State of Origin so maybe Mingoola does too. Would be a good night to watch it in the local if they have one.—Mkativerata (talk) 07:02, 24 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment I don't have a problem with a single article but there is the practical problem which already exists at Mungindi that {{Infobox Australian place}} has provision for multiple LGAs, multiple electorates, etc but does NOT have provision for multiple states. Consequently Mungindi's infobox misrepresents it as being in New South Wales in big bold letters at the top with no mention of Queensland. I'd like to see this fixed first. Yes, this is an issue but it's something that affects only a few places. While it's a bit of a hack, using the infobox twice should be okay for these limited instances. Fully populate the first with everything for the first state and only add what is necessary in the second. Modifying the infobox to accommodate two states for only a very few places is unnecessary complexity in my opinion. I did it in {{Infobox Australian road}} so it can be done, but it was absolutely necessary there. --AussieLegend () 01:09, 10 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
