Requested move 16 September 2020
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
It was proposed in this section that Minglanilla, Cebu be renamed and moved to Minglanilla.
result: This is template {{subst:Requested move/end}} |
Minglanilla, Cebu → Minglanilla – Now-updated WP:MOSPHIL now allows "municipality-only" article titling format. Per page readership (page information as of 09/17/2020, 12:48 AM UTC+8/Philippine Standard Time):
- Minglanilla - 2,155 views - WP:PRIMARYTOPIC
- Minglanilla, Cuenca - 98 views
The <cityname> only format is supported by both Talk:Cagdianao and Talk:Baliuag requested moves initiated by me earlier this year, and the successful requested move for Pateros over its primacy vs. Pateros, Washington, as well as bold moves made by some Wikipedians before (not exhaustive):
- Seav: Abucay, Guiuan, Palanan, and Sindangan (plus our town)
- HueMan1: Maragondon
- Exec8: Amlan, Hinunangan, and Malungon
- RioHondo: Maripipi and Sibutu
- Shhhhwwww!!: Cainta, Caramoan, and Kalibo.
- Hariboneagle927: Balamban, Hinigaran, Mamburao, Paete, and Zamboanguita.
Per Wikipedia:ONEOTHER (brought forth by P199 at the requested move for Pateros), since there are only two entries for the disambiguation page, there's no need for a redundant disambiguation page once Minglanilla, Cebu is moved to Minglanilla. The etymology should not be an issue. International case is Boston vs. Boston, Lincolnshire as argued at Talk:Boston/Archive 4#Requested move. - Support. This RM is in accordance with MOS:PHIL. Also, the PH municipality has a population of 132K as opposed to the ES municipality's 2K which supports the primary-topic-ness of the PH municipality. —seav (talk) 04:08, 17 September 2020 (UTC)
