In the article where these two citations Reporter receives death threats from man self-identified as Aegean Oil magnate (UPDATES) and A Greek Oil Baron Wants to Blow Me Up in My Sleep that vertifiacted something that had no connection with the articles. Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. → Minerva Bunkering – Not sure why people create entirely new parallel article when this company AMPNI, was just renamed to Minerva Bunkering instead of other form of refoundation, and then a AfD was performed without raising the merge option. (See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Minerva Bunkering). Since AMPNI had renamed to Minerva Bunkering, it seem better rename the wiki article to the new official name, which high likely that would be the new common name of the same company. COI edits

SPA editor continues to remove information saying that the company was founded by Dimitris Melissanidis and insisting that the company was founded or owned by Magid Shenouda. If it is understandable that the former owner may want to dismiss all information linking him to the company, it is reported by number of reliable sources. At the same time, if the company was founded by Dimitris Melissanidis, it can't be founded by Magid Shenouda. Magid Shenoudaalso is not the owner of the company as it is a subsidiary of Mercuria and Magid Shenouda works as Global Head of Trading at Mercuria. Being employee at the company does not make anyone owner of the company. I also encourage the SPA editor to declare their close connection and to follow WP:COI guidelines. Magid Shenouda

It is repeatedly inserted that Minerva Bunkering was established by Magid Shenouda, Mercuria's Global Head of Trading. This is incorrect. Minerva Bunkers (not Minerva Bunkering) was established by Mercuria, not by Magid Shenouda who works for Mercuria. As a proof for the claim, link to the Mercuria's press release was presently added. However, the press release says that "in a statement today, Magid Shenouda, the global head of trading of Mercuria, one of the world's largest independent energy and commodities groups, announced the founding of the group’s maritime fuel business, Minerva." The press release makes clear that Magid Shenouda made an announcement on behalf of Mercuria, and that not means that he is the founder. As it is the official press release of Mercuria about the annoucement by its employee, it it clear that Minerva Bunkers (press release says just Minerva) was established by Mercuria. The press release also does not say when it was established. Also it was published in March 2015, other sources say that Minerva Bunkers was established in December 2014, not in 2015. Clearing Up Information on Founding

I appreciate Beagel's assertion that Magid Shenouda can't be cited as the founder of Minerva; that appears to be absolutely correct. But Dimitris Melissanidis is also not the founder of Minerva; he is the founder of Aegean. It is not disputed that Mercuria acquired Aegean and folded its assets into the newer Minerva Bunkering. There are sources that say Aegean is now Minerva, but all of the documentation taken together indicates that that is a misstatement--or at least a sloppy characterization. While Minerva picks up the Aegean legacy, it doesn't trace its founding to the founding of Aegean. According to Mercuria, which should be authoritative in this matter, Minerva was founded in 2014 (announcement was in 2015) and ate the bigger and older fish, Aegean. This is not a major issue, but legally speaking, Minerva was not founded by Melissanidis, and was not founded in 1995. anyway, I think we both just want this to be accurate.

Do you have any source saying that Minerva Bunkering is the successor of Minerva Bunkers and not the successor of Aegean? Because Minerva Bunkers and Minerva Bunkering are different companies. Both of them have Minerva in their name, but names are still different, and they have different headquarters (Singapore versus Geneva). So, if you could provide any source which describes how Minerva Bunkering (and not Minerva Bunkers) was created, it would be appreciated. Beagel (talk) 17:28, 25 August 2020 (UTC)

Minerva Bunkers, Minerva Bunkering and Aegean

Minerva Bunkering has a very brief history in the "About" section of its website. It says:

"Minerva Bunkering Pte Ltd. was established by Mercuria Energy Group in Singapore on 14 March 2019 and immediately assumed the operations and personnel of Minerva Bunkers Pte Ltd and of the reorganized Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc, after it emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the US.

"In 2014, Mercuria had established Minerva Bunkers Pte Ltd. as its entry into the bunkering business, with teams based in Singapore, Las Palmas, and Geneva."

This tells me that, legally speaking (and in fact), Mercuria simply decided to forma a new bunkering company when it acquired Aegean. So it moved Aegean's personnel, operations and facilities into Minerva Bunkering and then did the same with Aegean's. Minerva Bunkers probably still exists on paper. I think the Minerva Bunkering page must carry the 2019 founding date with Mercuria as its founder. The wording of both the Aegean news release and the news article are imprecise and don't reflect the facts. the ews article says "the company will now operate as Minerva Bunkering," but in fact, the company was not operating at all. It's assets and operations were taken over by Minerva Bunkering. It may seem like hair splitting, but really, the founder of Aegean is not the founder of Minerva Bunkering any more than the founders of NBC or Universal Studios is the founder of Comcast. Comcast is by far the younger company, but it acquired NBCUniversal, it didn't emerge from NBCUniversal. I think the redirect of Aegean to Minerva Bunkering is also incorrect, since Aegean is not Minerva Bunkering's corporate predecessor and did not create Minerva Bunkering.
