Mine clearance agenciesList of mine clearance agencies — Whether it is in bullet-point format or not, this article is definitely in list format as it does not describe the subject so much as simply give examples. Re-titling it would be the first step in cleaning it up. —Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 09:04, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oppose - I do not agree with your assessment that "this article is definitely in list format as it does not describe the subject so much as simply give examples". There is a 67 word paragraph as the intro of the article. The "Humanitarian mine clearance agencies" section has an intro of 135 words. Then each organisation is described with a paragraph of prose. The Section on the United Nations is quite list-like but can easily be edited into a more fluent prose format. Turning this page into a pure list article will result in a substantial loss of information - wholesale deletion of many paragraphs. I think it would be much better to take this article in the other direction and instead of deleting what detail there is we add more. That will also address your concern that "it does not describe the subject so much as simply give examples". Rather add to it than strip it down. Roger (talk) 06:48, 1 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
In that case the page should be moved to mine clearance agency per our naming conventions, as the subject is singular. I cannot see any logical reason for the page to use the plural form. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 10:04, 2 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request
